Neil Coig, Owner of nolaIP, is a Louisiana
native, born in New Orleans, and raised in Metairie and Mandeville,
Louisiana. Upon graduating Mandeville High School, he moved to Baton
Rouge and attended LSU, earning a Baccalaureate of Science degree in
Marketing with a Chemistry sub-curriculum while being an intern at Louisiana
Sea Grant. Immediately following, he completed LSU Law School while
clerking for one of his law professors, ultimately obtaining his Juris
Doctorate. Neil was subsequently licensed to practice law in the State
of Louisiana and Texas, registered as a Patent Agent before the U.S.
Patent and Trademark Office, and was licensed a Real Estate Agent before
the Louisiana Real Estate Commission.
Neil is currently a member of the Louisiana,
Baton Rouge, Federal and American Bar Associations, and is a member
of the American Intellectual Property Law Association. He also is a
past Chair and serves on the Baton Rouge Bar Association's Volunteer
Committee and has served as Chair of the Association's Technology Committee
as well as serving as treasurer for the Louisiana State Bar’s Intellectual
Property Section. He has additionally served as an instructor for multiple
Technology-related Continuing Education programs. Neil was the Marshall
of the White Chapter of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity at Louisiana
State University Law Center, and continues as an Alumni Advisor to current
members at LSU and surrounding schools.
